Reservoirs, inflow and price expectations decide what runs. Data has to support a decision made before production happens, not merely report it afterwards.

You meet the market on two sides
Production data into Elhub, and balance responsibility towards the market. Two demands on the same figures, and they have to agree.
The specialist systems need tending, not replacing
The planning tools are in place and they work. What is missing is rarely a new system, but someone keeping the existing one in order.
The rules that apply to you
- Production data is reported into Elhub as a power producer, under the same deadlines that apply elsewhere in the market.
- Balance responsibility rests with the BRP, and where the messages diverge from what was actually produced, it costs money.
- Hydropower production requires a licence and is regulated by NVE.

- BRP
- Balance Responsible Party - actor responsible for balancing production and consumption in its portfolio against the system operator.
- Elhub
- National hub for metering data and market processes in the Norwegian electricity market.
- Metering point
- The fundamental unit in Elhub - the unique point in the electricity network where energy is measured and settled, identified by an 18-digit GSRN number.
- VEE
- Validation, Estimation, Editing - systematic process to ensure quality of raw metering data from electricity meters.
- Grid company
- Company that owns and operates electricity grids and is responsible for power supply to end users.
