Kraftsystemutredning (KSU - Power System Study) is a statutory analysis that central and regional network operators must carry out at least every four years, commissioned by NVENorway's Directorate of Water Resources and Energy - regulates the electricity and water resources sectors.. The study shall map future power demand and production in a defined geographical area, identify bottlenecks and capacity needs, and assess various solution alternatives to meet future grid requirements. KSU is an important planning instrument that forms the basis for investment decisions in the power grid and is part of NVE's licensing process.
