Visma Ameli EDI is an electronic data interchange platform used by grid companies, power producers and energy suppliers. It was called Compello until the Visma acquisition, and the old name is still in widespread use. The change of name applied to the power-industry product, not to the whole company: Compello AS still exists as a separate company, focused on invoice handling. The company was founded in 1996 and grew around two related jobs: message exchange in the industry EdielNordic profile of the EDI EDIFACT standard - used for electronic message exchange in the Nordic power market via Elhub. formats, and automation of incoming and outgoing invoices with posting against finance systems such as Visma Business, Xledger and Infor M3.
Its role in the power sector follows from how the market was built. Elhub changed the premise for that part of the job in the Norwegian market. When messages pass through a national hub, actors no longer need a transport link between them for the processes the hub covers. The invoice job is unaffected, since it never went through Elhub.
