Definition
Power-sensitive information (Norwegian: kraftsensitiv informasjon, KSI) is concrete and detailed information about the power supply, including classified facilities and systems, that can be exploited to damage the power supply or weaken the ability to handle extraordinary situations. Section 6-1 of the regulation concerns identifying what constitutes KSI and who the rightful users are; section 6-2 imposes a duty of confidentiality that applies to everyone. General justifications - for instance that a grid reinforcement is needed to reduce vulnerability - are not KSI. A new definition applies from 1 January 2025 for all newly created information, and information that is KSI under the new definition must be protected and handled according to the regulation by 1 January 2026 at the latest.
