RDS (Reference Designation System) is the set of principles in the ISO/IEC 81346The standard giving every part of a plant an unambiguous designation by function, location and product. The basis RDS builds on. series for structuring and naming objects in technical facilities. The standard separates a facility into independent aspects: function (what something does), product (what something is) and location (where it sits). Each componentA replaceable part inside a fixed asset.
