Condition-based maintenance (CBM) is a concrete maintenance tactic, not an overarching strategy: you perform maintenance when measurements or inspections - vibration, oil analysis, thermography, temperature - actually show the componentA replaceable part inside a fixed asset. It has its own age, its own history and its own service life - independent of the asset it sits in. needs it. It answers one question: how and when do we intervene on this specific component?
