Nemo is developed by ElbitsCollectively owned Norwegian company developing shared digital infrastructure for grid companies - including a national grid model and digitalised connection process., the grid companies' jointly owned digitalisation partner, and is described as the first national reference model of the power grid to be openly available. It covers the transmission and regional grid across the country, with work under way to bring in the distribution grid. The point is not to be a complete operational model but a simplified national grid model that can be used to connect data across different systems - the problem it addresses is that valuable grid data today sits scattered across a range of systems and models, which makes both sharing and collaboration difficult. The underlying data comes mainly from StatnettNorway's system operator for the transmission grid - owns and operates the high-voltage network and operates Elhub. today, and the ambition is to extend the model with grid models from the grid companies themselves. The model itself is built on the CIMCommon Information Model - IEC standard for semantic modeling of the electricity system, the basis for data exchange between TSOs across Europe. vocabulary - classes such as substation, voltage level, line and position point carry the `cim:` prefix - alongside its own extensions for model metadata such as version, schema version and scenario time.
