Definition

Tilko is developed by Elbits, the grid companies' jointly owned digitalisation partner, and addresses the connection process for larger consumption and generation. The source describes the problem it was built for like this: connection across grid levels has long been marked by manual coordination, differing practices and unclear interfaces between the parties. A customer seeking a connection above 1 MW typically touches several grid levels and therefore several grid companies, and without a shared case each of them has to be coordinated separately. Tilko gathers the case in one place, so that everyone involved sees the same picture and the customer deals with a single front rather than with each company in turn.

In practice

In practice the gain lies as much in what becomes visible as in the case flow itself. When everyone sees the same case, it becomes easier to understand what the actual demand is, to clear the capacity queue and to plan grid development on a better basis - a queue full of applications that are not real, or that were filed in several places for safety's sake, gives a distorted picture of where capacity is needed. Tilko belongs to the same family as Elbits' other shared services: the value lies not in any single feature but in the industry sharing structure and process instead of each building its own variant.
